knife box

Box to hold a Japanese knife. I used some leftover scraps for this: lid and bottom are acacia, sides are oak, insert is made of padouk. Miter joints are strengthened with wedge splines. Carved initials on the lid are inlaid using synthetic opal fragments set in UV-curing epoxy. Lid is secured using two small magnets set in the rim on each side
